Event Manager

WORK SUMMARY: To manage and oversee RahGor events, ensuring staff delivers a first class service for the client, maximize all opportunities of the event, and effectively executing event plans.

SUPERVISION: This position reports directly to RahGor Personal Assistant

HOURS: 5-8 hours per event; flexible

PAY RATE: $25/hr

  • All travel expenses shall be reimburse and/or covered by RahGor

QUALIFICATIONS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the set-up of each allocated event, liaising with the client and sub-contractors as appropriate, and ensuring all aspects of the site, stock and units are prepared and implemented according to the plan.
  • Provide detailed and clear briefings prior to the start of events, ensuring the whole team has all the information they require and fully understand the objectives and standards for that event.
  • Supervise all aspects of your team’s performance; monitoring, encouraging, coaching, guiding and leading by example, and tackling any performance issues as they arise, liaising with RahGor Personal Assistant as appropriate.
  • Ensure your team performs to the expected standards, delivering a high quality service to clients, and making the most of every opportunity to give out RahGor information and sell RahGor merchandise.
  • Oversee the welfare of your team at all times (both on and off site), ensuring they are transported safely, appropriately accommodated, receive appropriate breaks and are treated respectfully.
  • Oversee the post-event breakdown, ensuring the site is left clean and tidy; all equipment and left over products secured and relocated; cash is reconciled and secured.
  • Provide the RahGor Personal Assistant with a detailed analysis post-event to include; staff performance, profitability, efficiency, support equipment, problems encountered and solutions implemented, suggestions for improvement.

Event Assistant

WORK SUMMARY: The event assistant is responsible for the preparation, cleaning, and physical setup for all RahGor meetings and events.

SUPERVISION: This position reports directly to the Event Manager

HOURS: 4-8 hours per event; flexible

PAY RATE: $15 – $20/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure room and event setups are completed (1) hour prior to event
  • Setup tables, chairs, staging, etc. as necessary for event.
  • Assist in all pre- event preparation and on the day provide support as required by the event manager
  • Provides friendly, courteous, polite and helpful customer service
  • Assist and manage merchandise and book signing areas
  • Provide assistance with crowd control during event

VIDEOGRAPHER

WORK SUMMARY: To shoot and edit footage of RahGor events and activities. The videographer will accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to production and post-production. He or she will transport, set up, and operate equipment; and assist with staging, set preparation and dressing. The videographer will work closely with Rahfeal and creative director to execute the concept through to completion.

SUPERVISION: This position reports directly to RahGor Personal Assistant

HOURS: 3-8 hours per event; flexible

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $35.00 an hour / $65.00+ per recap video/commercial

  • All travel expenses shall be reimburse and/or covered by RahGor
  • Must have an active passport

QUALIFICATIONS:

Progressively responsible experience in a professional video editing/producing environment demonstrating competence in all areas of video production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transports, sets up, and operates various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production
  • Capture entire speeches and b-roll footage of Rahfeal Gordon
  • Capture interviews of event attendees and dialogue of staff during planning sessions
  • Determines what camera equipment is necessary and obtains equipment
  • Create recap videos of events and short commercials for media purposes
  • Assists in developing interview questions and storyboards

PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT (INTERN)

INTERN POSITION SUMMARY: The Intern assists RahGor for public relations and marketing, helping to expand clientele and increase brand visibility. The public relations/marketing intern will work directly with Rahfeal Gordon and the public relations team. It is RahGor goal to instill the basic teachings of marketing and public relations. We hope it is a beneficial relationship for both parties. Duties might include any of the following responsibilities, as well as other, unlisted duties.

Pay Rate: EXEMPT

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

PUBLIC RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with developing, writing and distributing approved press releases
  • Assist with media relations, including pitching, researching and scheduling interviews if needed
  • Assist with organization of executive photos, photo opportunities and events
  • Assist with building and maintaining relationships with both local and national media
  • Assist with building and maintaining press kits
  • Assist with posting logos and organizational summaries to industry services related web sites and publications
  • Assist with finding and completing appropriate award entries
  • Assist with following-up with members of the media to track and ensure RahGor placement
  • Assist with proofing written materials for style, grammar, etc.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events, if needed

MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with monitoring the impact of marketing plans, including revenues, and making adjustments accordingly
  • Assist with writing advertising copy for RahGor
  • Assist with developing, maintaining and using marketing database, which includes client and prospect information, mailing lists, access to client publications, etc.
  • Assist with electronic and social media marketing efforts for RahGor brand, products, and services
  • Assist with direct mail and marketing efforts for RahGor products and services

Event Manager INTERN

INTERN POSITION SUMMARY: The Event Management Intern will play an integral role in the planning, execution and evaluation of RahGor events within New York/ New Jersey area. As Event Management Intern he/she will work with the teams responsible for putting together detailed plans to execute these events. The candidate must be able to work independently. The event organizer is hands-on and will require working as part of a team. You will need to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear, effective communication, critical thinking, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, make decisions and ensure the smooth and efficient running of each event. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to fund raising, communication with sponsors, vendors, and event staff, and other duties as assigned. This position will report to the Event Manager and will attend meetings as requested by the event manager.

Pay Rate: EXEMPT

  • Must have an active license (a passport is a plus)

Hours: 15+ hours per week during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm). Some late evenings and weekends will be required. We will accommodate prospective student's schedules as best as possible. Actual hours may vary depending upon requirements of the position/event, etc.

Length of Internship: January – May 2017

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma with some course work at a 4-year college or university
  • Must have a strong interest in event planning
  • Previous event planning / volunteer experience a strong plus
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Database experience preferred
