Day 26 of 30 Days of Amazing

Message of Substance

“Ridiculous yachts and private planes and big limousines won't make people enjoy life more, and it sends out terrible messages to the people who work for them. It would be so much better if that money was spent in Africa - and it's about getting a balance.” – Richard Branson

Each blog post I have created has been for the betterment of not just the reader, but humanity. My younger years would have wanted me to be selfish and focus on the glitter and gold of things. But just as Sir Richard has said, it is ridiculous! The material things we yearn for won’t keep us happy for the years that we spend here.

What we chase and talk about to others says a lot about who we are a person. It sends a message to those who admire and look up to us daily. What would it mean to gain all the material things that our heart desires? At certain moments, we will become tired of what we have accumulated. Things we accomplished and purchased 10 years ago (20-40 years ago for others) doesn’t widen our eyes as it did when we first received them.

As you continue to achieve and receive, seek to achieve a higher knowing of thyself. Yearn to cultivate happiness even if you lose, break, or can’t achieve something materialistic that your heart desires. Where we spend our time, money, and attention says a lot about who we are. Let it be a message of amazing rather than a message of emptiness.
