Day 13 of 30 Days of Amazing

Perfectly Made Imperfect

Goldie Hawn once said, “Living in fear of not being perfect is something that actually can destabilize us and narrow our scope of life experience.”

Perfection by definition means the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects. It is the action or process of improving something until it is faultless or as faultless as possible.

Notice that it says, “Action or process of improving something.” Perfection can be such a burden when people don’t realize that it is a process and not an product. I always say that we are perfectly made imperfect to fulfill our purpose perfectly in a world that focuses solely on our imperfections. What society fails to realize is that what is believed to be a negative, is actually a positive in our world.

Goldie Hawn was a dancer when she was a child. All she wanted to do was dance. Her parents always thought that being a dancer would become Goldie’s life. But one day her teacher said to her that she wanted all the students to be perfect. Goldie’s mind went into overdrive (along with stress) because she didn’t believe she was perfect. Leading up to the show, Goldie was nervous and didn’t know if she would do well because, in her mind, she was not perfect.

As Goldie stepped onto the stage with nervousness, everything changed when she heard the music. She just danced with all her energy and to her own beat. She gracefully got lost in the music and danced like a swan flapping its wings, in sync with a Beethoven classical piece.

You have to be aware that you are all that you were created to be. You have all the necessary inner tools to create what you want on the outside. Don’t be in fear of not being perfect.  A person who falls will fall perfectly. A person who laughs will laugh perfectly. A person who falls in love will fall in love perfectly. There isn’t an actual place to be considered perfect. It’s just the process where you are able to allow yourself to be free and not allow yourself to see life in a box.
